OK. I understand why that makes sense.

Let's think about whether we really expect it to change.

Do we really expect it to change more than once? If about once, are
we willing to bear (ask Dan to bear) the hassle of changing the
Articles about one time?

I'm adamant on this. BUT...

It IS the single provision that defines the organization :

It is fine to put the principles in the Articles, but what the
Stewards Council does will be determined by who the Stewards
are. They will be the stewards of the principles.

I still feel the clean way to handle this is to simply specify a
single procedure that admits or removes stewards, with the side
effect that the group that nominated them becomes or is no longer a
working group. I hear the objection that is raised, but I feel
strongly that there is no practical problem whatsoever with the
single procedure approach.

(If the Council ever decides to remove a steward, the working group
will soon recover from the bad feelings they experienced by
technically not being a working group while they nominated a
replacement steward. Few people will even realize that is,
technically, what happened.)

However, if we decide (or have already finally decided) that we must
have two separate processes, one for working groups and a different
one for stewards, then let's give a lot of thought to the cases that
might arise, complicating things, as a result of their being two procedures.

And let's be clear that, for the community as a whole, and for all
the other working groups, what is central is who are the stewards.

Cordially,

Joaquin
