Not sure if I have a vote, but here is my 2 cents worth...

I will be meeting this evening with a bunch of my fellow Chicago Drupal User
Group folks and get their perspective. I understood from our November
meeting that the release of 6 could be due out by end of year or mid
January, this was from a few folks working on core.

My initial feeling is that the transition should be fairly painless from 5.5
to 6 and there are more modules available for 5.5 and tested at this point.
Transitioning from version 5.5 to 6 in 3-6 months might make good sense.
Fen, when is Civic Actions planning on making the switch? I would assume
they would wait for all their target modules to be prepared.

Is Boris Mann still with us on the mailing list? His input would be valuable
on this topic.

Subject: [Community] idcommons drupal site

Hi Eugene (et al) -

Drupal 6 is simply taking too long to appear and the Drupal 6 OpenID
module has been backported to Drupal 5.

So I have just created a development (testing) site
<http://dev.idcommons.net/> which is Drupal 5.5 with the backported
OpenID extension, plus CCK, Views, CiviCRM and a few other useful
modules thrown in.

I think we should switch to this Drupal 5.5 version, but I can't
(easily) move user accounts backwards (from the current Drupal 6-beta
back to Drupal 5.5). So any current user accounts will be lost and you
will have to create new accounts.

Shall I promote <http://dev.idcommons.net/> to <http://idcommons.net/>?
I vote "yes".

=Fen
