[Community] idcommons drupal site

Hi Bob -
Yes, I think the transition from 5->6 should be easy. I originally went
with 6-beta1 as at that time I thought 6 final would be out before the
Dec IIW, and also the backport of the Drupal 6 OpenID module was not
available at the time. But as 6 has been slower than expected (well, I
should have expected this ;-) ) and as the module set we'd like to use
will take some time to catch up (cck, views, civicrm, others) I think we
should drop back to 5.5 now.
CivicActions will begin developing with Drupal 6 once a) it's final and
b) stable versions of cck and views exist. We're already helping with
bug fixing and conversion of some modules, and we'll be motivated to
convert more modules once 6 is final. (Yeah, it's a chicken and egg
problem, but we're doing what we can.)
Bottom line, the idcommons.net site is not being used yet and there is
zero content on it (other than the home page). So all we lose are eight
login accounts (and about 20 spam accounts) that can be easily
re-created by the owners. I think it's time to drop back and punt - it
cuts our losses, gets us going with a stable platform now, and we can
upgrade later.
So again, I'm planning on switching the live site back to Drupal 5.5 and
a few people will have to recreate accounts. I think I'll do this later
today unless I hear some solid reasons not to.
